A Crimp in Time

Our time, our car,
And our money sit idle.
While we sit vaxxed
In the middle of summer,
With delta's variant floating about,
And lambda waiting in the wings.
We're ready, but really,
Where can we go...
Museums allow far fewer in,
Zoos, as well.
The Highline's too crowded,
Seats at plays are elbow-close..
Movies, we stream on TV screens.
Travel has its quarantines.
So not quite hungry
We show up at restaurants,
Outdoors, of course...
Our lone entertainment...
Until we get to the far side of covid.
