Blind Date Timed by Parking Meter

I realized she had the depth of a dime
In the time a dime buys in a parking meter…
Just enough time for me to greet her
And exchange a pleasantry or two or three,
But find no chemistry.
So we talked ’til the time ran out…
Ten minutes for a dime that didn’t pan out.
And I thought,
Though a nickel would have been shorter,
How lucky I hadn’t put in a quarter.
