Under the heading of
All the things we’d never do…
But do…
When absurdity morphs to common sense,
Like parking a car at four-forty-five
In a No Parking spot that’s legal at six,
Then sitting ‘til six
In case on the block there’s a ticket blitz…
Too bad for the drivers who park and leave,
But not the ones who dutifully sit
To move, if they have to.
An hour and a quarter Of reading or texting or sleeping or phoning,
Then having the bliss
Of free parking ‘til morning.
